SIGGRAPH News Bytes: Dynamixyz, Solid Angle, Lightworks

+ Dynamixyz is celebrating its fourth anniversary at SIGGRAPH with the release of a new version of Performer Suite markerless facial performance capture solution. Key improvements include enhanced tracking & retargeting capabilities, re-designed GUI with timeline for results visualization and easy frame corrections, new Bridge technology for integration with 3D offering tools, mutli-view face tracking, true 3D data exporting, straightforward calibration process and multiview annotation tools. + Solid Angle will showcase its Arnold 4.2 renderer, which boasts significant speed gains over previous versions, and plug-ins for Houdini and Cinema 4D will be demonstrated at the Side Effects and MAXON booths (#901, #1422). The company will also participate in the Autodsek Speaker Series and will present two courses: Recent Advances in Light-Transport Simulation: Some Theory and a Lot of Practice with Marcos Fajardo and Iliyan Georgiev (Tuesday at 2 p.m.); and Physically Based Shading in Theory and Practice with Anders Langlands (Wednesday at 2 p.m.). + Lightworks, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will be exhibiting its latest visualization technology innovations and demoing an alpha release of a brand-new product, which will be officially announced at the event. Last year the company announced its status as official NVIDIA Iray resellers and the new Iray + SDK; reps say this year’s announcement will also be of great interest to the visualization sector.
