Cartoon Network Courts Viewer Clips for On-Air

Cartoon Network is giving its loyal viewers an opportunity to appear on TV through a new app that lets users record videos of themselves interacting virtually with their favorite characters. The “CN Sayin'” app, available for iOS, is organized into four weekly “activities” to guide the user content generation — such as asking fans to record their own version of popular cartoon catch phrases like “Homies help homies, always,” from Adventure Time.

The network hopes to increase eyeballs on its broadcasts by featuring the best submissions from CN Sayin’ on Thursday nights, which features new episodes premieres for hit shows like The Amazing World of Gumball, Clarence, Adventure Time and Regular Show. The clips will air as bumpers between the animated comedies from 6 to 8 p.m. ET starting this week.
