‘Legends of Oz’ Seeks Disc Audience

It was a high-profile flop at the box office when it was released this spring, but Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return (Fox, $29.99, Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy, $22.99 DVD) is out this week on home video. It grossed a mere $11.4 million worldwide despite a budget estimated at around $100 million — leading to public accusations of investor irregularities. Whether the film finds an audience with its home video release will be a question are expected to ask.

Also out this week are a handful of kid-pleasers: Gravity Falls: Even Stranger (Disney, $15.99), Henry Hugglemonster: Roarsome Tales (Disney, $10.99) and Special Agent Oso: License to Play (Disney, $10.99).

And a bonanza of releases awaits anime fans with Cardcaptor Sakura: The Motion Picture (ADA, $29.95 Blu-ray, $19.95 DVD), Cybersix: Complete TV Series Collection (ADA, $39.95), Fatal Fury Complete OVA Collection (ADA, $24.95), Kinmoza: The Complete Collection (Section23 Films, $59.98 Blu-ray, $49.98 DVD), Moribito: The Complete Series (VIZ Media, $54.97 Blu-ray, $44.82 DVD), Uta No Prince Sama 2000%: The Complete Collection (Section23 Films, $59.98 Blu-ray, $49.98 DVD) and Watamote: The Complete Collection (Section23 Films, $69.98 Blu-ray, $59.98 DVD).
