ZDF Enterprises will be sending Snapper Productions’ Q Pootle Five (52 x 11) rocketing around the globe with new acquisitions by CBeebies Africa, Ketnet (Belgium), SVT (Sweden), NPO (Netherlands) and NRK (Norway). This brings the U.K. produced series’ total to over 70 countries worldwide.
Based on the best-selling books by children’s author and illustrator Nick Butterworth, Q Pootle 5 follows the adventures of the friendly little alien and his pals — Oopsy, Eddi, Stella, Ray, Groobie, Bud-D and Planet Dave — as they tackle the everyday problems of the final frontier. The show airs in the U.K. on CBeebies and has previously been picked up VGTRK (Russian public TV), YLE 2 (Finland), TG4 (Ireland), HOP! TV (Israel), MTVA (Hungary), KiKA (Germany) and ABC (Australia).
