Nickelodeon and Paramount have debuted a new trailer for the highly anticipated hybrid flick The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, giving fans a broader look at the scope of the quest to save Bikini Bottom from a dastardly pirate (played by Antonio Banderas).
The 3-D flick is directed by Paul Tibbitt and sees Stephen Hillenburg’s beloved characters emerge from their 2D animated underseas home into the 3D upper world as they track down the stolen secret Krabby Patty recipe. But in order to save the day, SpongeBob and friends must become real world super heroes. Also starring Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence and Douglas Lawrence.

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS NEXT YEAR! IT LOOKS GREAT! I LOVE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS AND I LOVE ANIMATION!
Ughhh, the CG animation is so ugly!!!
Some things they should just leave as hand drawn animation. EPIC FAIL!
The moment I saw the CG pixar character look, I was like NOPE, will not watch something that has such a cheesy stupid look from the original.
Maybe do the background or effects with CG, but leave the characters hand drawn.
