Looks like Idina Menzel might have “Let it Go” when it comes to news of a sequel to the hit Frozen.
The singer and actress, who voiced Elsa in Disney’s smash-hit Frozen, told The Guardian newspaper in the United Kingdom that a sequel film is “in the works.”
While such a move is far from unexpected, given the huge success Frozen has had in the year since it was first released, Disney has yet to confirm or deny any specifics about a movie sequel.
There is a stage musical version of the movie also in the works, and while Menzel says she’s on board for a sequel film, she is at this time not involved in the stage version.
Really, the 1st movie has been barely out for a year. If anything it should be direct to DVD, and not another theatrical release. They are going to milk the Fozen name as long as they possibly can, recycling ideas seems to be the modern trend.
Frozen is an overrated movie in many respects, Disney has spent 10x more money promoting Frozen merchandise and advertising than any other Disney movie. They really want people to believe that it is the best animated movie ever.
The Lion King and Aladdin were far better movies in my opinion, these actually have a good antagonist and conflict in the storyline, and the villains are so much better.
Disney is all about keeping its profit margin high, today they could care less about how Walt Disney ran the company while he was alive. Sad
Did you know that Wizart Animation’s sequel to “The Snow Queen” is about to be released in the United Kingdom on December 15, 2014? It is titled “The Snow Queen: Magic of the Ice Mirror.” In the United States, “The Snow Queen 2: The Journey Continues.” Working title: “The Snow King.”

Maybe that could be the reason why Menzel stated that Disney’s working on a sequel for “Frozen,” especially that “The Snow Queen 2” got the nomination for Best Animated Picture at the Golden Globes.
