DreamWorks Animation’s Home had a strong opening overseas with a $19.2 million gross in a handful of markets one week before its United States release.
That total included $9.3 million in the United Kingdom, and it took first place at the box office in Russia with $4.2 million and Spain with $2.4 million. It also added $2.3 million in Australia.
Home is slated to expand to 55 new markets next weekend.
The strong opening overseas bodes well for the feature, which is DreamWorks Animation’s sole feature film release for 2015.
