‘Golan’ Gets Half-Hour Treatment for Fox

A new half-hour animated comedy based on the quarter-hour Golan the Insatiable installments on Animation Domination High-Def will premiere on Fox on Sunday, May 31 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. This marks the first ADHD project to land a primetime series order.

The longer format series features an all-new voice cast as it follows mighty godlord Golan (Rob Riggle), who has arrived in Oak Grove, MN from his home in an alternate dimension. His only friend in this reality is a macabre nine-year-old girl named Dylan (Aubrey Plaza), who constantly urges him to wreak havoc on her town. Additional voice talent includes Ken Marino, John DiMaggio, Maria Bamford, Rachel Butera and Nick Rutherford.

Golan the Insatiable was created by TV newcomer Joshua Miller and developed by Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser, who previously collaborated on Axe Cop and Drawn Together. Nick Weidenfeld and Hend Baghdady exec producer with Silverstein and Jeser, with Miller as co-exec producer. The series is produced by Weidenfeld’s Friends Night in association with Double Hemm.

    • New voices? I really enjoyed their original voices, gotta disagree with NateH I actually enjoyed golan the best namely for having a full circle story, and has a very messed up family show vibe

  1. I am both happy and confused by this. I really enjoyed the ADHD block and was sad by the cancellation. However, I definitely felt like Golan and Lucas Bros. were the weakest of the lot. I would think Axe Cop would be the most likely to survive prime time.

Regardless, I am glad to see these shows get a second chance and will set a season pass for Axe Cop on FXX this week. I hope to see High School USA possibly return.

  2. I’m happy for the artists who worked on this show, but seriously FOX must be starving for content to greenlight this ADHD dud to a half hour series!

    • I cant tell you how many good projects FOX passed on, via David Slevin and Kevin Reily’s bad judgement. . Meanwhile they push this type of stuff thru.. So sad how many truly talented artists and writers are ignored while their buddies get their stuff produced.
