Aug. 7 can’t come quick enough for animation fans waiting to see Salma Hayek’s passion project: an animated adaptation of Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet.
Adapting one of the most popular works of poetry in history, the film was written and directed by Roger Allers (The Lion King) and features animated sequences by filmmakers Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea), Nina Paley (Sita Sings the Blues), Bill Plympton (Guide Dog), and a host of award-winning animators from around the world.
