Miami Dade College’s MIA Animation Conference & Festival is now accepting submission for its Pitch to the Industry competition. Projects for animated TV and web series in the target audience categories of 13 & under and 14 & up are invited to enter into consideration until the deadline of August 31, 2016.
Entries must include the official entry form and a “Pitch Document” of no more than three pages worth of description — e.g., premise, character descriptions, story ideas, art or other information. Submissions may also include an optional link to a video clip of no more than two minutes’ duration of footage relevant to the project.
The top entries as determined by the screening committee will be selected as finalists, to be notified by September 15. These will be invited to participate in in-person pitch sessions with a panel of industry experts at MIA (Oct. 21 & 22). This year’s panel includes Leah Hoyer, director of narrative design at Arena.net; Conrad Montgomery, current series director at Cartoon Network; and Drew Tolman, animation producer at 20th Century Fox.
