Super RTL Takes on Teutonic L&M for ‘Angelo Rules’

Super RTL’s Consumer Products department has inked a deal with kids entertainment company CAKE and French animation studio TeamTO for the German-speaking territories licensing rights to their hit series Angelo Rules. The agreement marks a high-profile move into consumer products for the comedy cartoon brand.

“Angelo’s appearance and style is unique and complements our portfolio perfectly,” says Super RTL’s Head of Licensing & Merchandising, Hendrik Rinsche. “We are looking forward to starting the marketing program and are very positive about our first product development in the publishing and promotion categories.”

Created by TeamTO and distributed worldwide by CAKE, Angelo Rules centers on sweet-talking 11-year-old genius Angelo, who has a knack for getting into trouble with the help of clever planning, a rebellious nature, and his best friends Sherwood and Lola. The show has aired on Super RTL in Germany since 2010 and has been a consistent ratings winner since, garnering a 30% market share among kids 6-9. Angelo Rules is also very popular on Super RTL’s digital platform, Toggo.de. The development of the show’s licensing program in the region will coincide with the launch of season 3 of the show.
