Bonita Siegel Presiding over Anglophone YMA Awards

Canada’s Youth Media Alliance announces that kids’ entertainment veteran Bonita Siegel will serve as President of its English-language Awards of Excellence jury for 2017. Honoring the best TV and digital platform productions aimed at young Anglophone Canadians, the Awards gala will take place May 31 at the CBC Glenn-Gould Studio in Toronto.

Bonita Siegel, who received the YMA Outstanding Achievement Award in 2011, is an award-winning executive producer and broadcaster who has worked across genres in her television career. As an executive producer at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Siegel worked on prime time drama series and TV movies. As Director of Original Productions for Corus Television, she developed, commissioned and supervised production on children’s programming for all age groups and genres including animation, live action, comedy, sitcom, reality shows, preschool animation, puppetry, and documentary projects. Siegel’s resume boasts a number of worldwide successes which have earned honors including International Emmy, YMA, Pulcinella, Gemini, Annecy, BAFTA, Leo and Banff awards. Siegel has recently worked as a creative producer working with colleagues in Canada, France and Australia to develop and product live-action and animated children’s programs.
