The Zagreb symposium invites professionals and scholars to join the international conversation on the wider applications of animation; applications for participation are open until March 1, 2018. This year’s topics are “Animating Horror,” “Characters in Animation,” “Animation and Sports” and “Animation at Large.” This year’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Animation Studies goes to Paul Wells, whose many books include Understanding Animation and The Animated Bestiary. Animafest Scanner will take place June 5-6 during the animation festival.
