Japanese animation publication Anime Busience (business + science) has launched an English-language version at the American Film Market. Published by Genco, the magazine first debuted in August 2013, detailing trending tops and behind the scenes perspectives on the Japanese market.
The English launch issue, No. 15, focuses on current pressing questions in the regional market. Highlights include a multi-genre study on the scale of the industry, an overview of the Japanese anime biz, and an assessment of how the country’s studios can avoid becoming “China’s Anime-Making Factory.” Plus, interviews with anime luminaries like producer Masao Maruyama (In This Corner of the World, Summer Wars, Ushio & Tora, Hunter X Hunter).
A 3,000-copy run of the issue is available at AFM. The content has also been made available on the new English-language website.
Genco can be found at AFM in Loews Rm. 756.
