“The poetic characters of Studio Ghibli have captured all of our hearts — so when Ashley Eckstein of Her Universe invited me to design with them a 30th anniversary collection for My Neighbor Totoro, I jumped at the chance!” said Cimino. “With these three sculpted sterling silver designs, I wanted to explore the whimsy of big Totoro. Spinning Totoro free-turns alight his flying red top while Branch Totoro sits meditatively across a carved tree limb, bowed under his weight. The double-sided Acorn pendant has a secret inside — a cheerful Totoro holding a mushroom!”
The line of three necklaces is limited to 250 pieces each, handcrafted from sterling silver. “Spinning Totoro” is a three-dimensional sculpt of Totoro riding a red enameled top ($79); “Branch Sitting Totoro” is also a three-dimensional design of the big sprite perched on a delicately arched branch ($79); and “Acorn Totoro” is a two-piece charm shaped like an acorn which hides a sweet relief image of Totoro holding a mushroom inside, suspended by a leaf-shaped loop ($89).
