Enchanting European co-production Captain Morten and the Spider Queen — directed by Kaspar Jancis — is ready to pull home viewers into its stop-motion web as it hits digital distribution outlets today.
A co-pro between Nukufilm (Estonia), Telegael (Ireland), Grid VFX (Belgium) and Calon (U.K.), the warmly received picture features the voices of Brendan Gleeson, Ciaran Hinds, Pauline McLynn, Michael McElhatton and Susie Power. In it, 10-year-old Morten learns to take the rudder of his life after he is magically shrunk to the size of an insect, and must find a way to sail his toy boat across a flooded cafe.
