Comedy Central’s new Animated channel just launched the brand-new animated action-comedy series Super I.T. Squad, created by Mike Manor. The 8-bit toon follows four friends surviving in humanity’s post apocalyptic new home: The Internet. After an avoidable catastrophe turns the Earth into a trash heap, everyone uploads themselves online.
The digital series voice stars Jordan Firstman, Zack Fox, Mitra Jouhari, Mekki Leeper, Alyssa Limperis, Marc Rebillet, Steph Tolev and JD Witherspoon. Creator Mike Manor is a LA-based animator and director known for his viral shorts and unique 2D/3D pixel art style. Manor has collaborated with Netflix, Comedy Central and developed projects with Zack Fox, Kennybeats, Flying Lotus, Pi’erre Bourne and Reggie Watts.
The first episode, “Erasing a Search Robot’s Memory,” premiered Saturday, Jan. 8 as a Comedy Central Animated YouTube Premiere. Episodes will roll out weekly each Saturday, across Animated Facebook, Instagram, and Comedy Central Twitter.
