Beautiful Hardcover ‘The Art of Mamoru Hosoda’ Arrives in August

Fans of Japanese animation master Mamoru Hosoda will be able to get their hands on a new beautiful illustrated book about the auteur by renowned animation historian and critic Charles Solomon on August 16. Titled The Man Who Leapt Through Film: The Art of Mamoru Hosoda, the  272-page 10 x 12” Abrams hardcover features previously unpublished storyboards, background paintings, character designs, concept art and much more. The book also includes a foreword by Oscar-winning Disney producer Don Hahn (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King).

He is the cofounder of Studio Chizu, one of Japan’s premier animation studios.
