‘Bob’s Burgers’ Pays Tribute to Paul Reubens with Sunday’s Episode

The talented folks behind two-time Emmy-winning FOX animated series Bob’s Burgers will dedicate an on-air in memoriam card this weekend to Paul Reubens (Pee-wee’s Playhouse), who died Sunday, July 30 at age 70 after an unpublicized battle with cancer. The card will air with the Sunday, August 13 episode “Amelia,” in which the late actor-comedian guest stars as Pat, a masseur-in-training.

In the episode, Louise (voiced by Kristen Schaal) takes a class assignment — and a few unhelpful comments by Wayne (Andy Richter) — very personally. And Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) hires a masseur-in-training (Paul Reubens) to give Linda (John Roberts) a massage for Mother’s Day.

Created and executive produced by Loren Bouchard, the series (currently in its 13th season) also stars Eugene Mirman as Gene Belcher, Dan Mintz as Tina Belcher and Larry Murphy as Teddy. The series is produced by 20th Television Animation.

Bob’s Burgers “Amelia” guest starring Paul Reubens premieres Sunday, August 13 (9-9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on FOX. New episodes are available to watch streaming the next day on Hulu.
