NYU Tisch School of the Arts’ Master of Professional Studies Program in Virtual Production is searching for one full-time Assistant Arts Professor (non-tenure track) to begin in September 2024.
Qualifications: Candidates should have proven and significant experience in developing interactive productions in film, television, games and digital & stage performance as a developer and/or creative technologist. Applicants must know the virtual production process from concept to completion. An in-depth knowledge of production workflow management, creating development and pipeline tools, working with virtual and cloud computing, Unreal Engine and emerging software applications.
The new program will be based at NYU’s Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at Industry City. One of the first of its kind, the 45,000-square-foot facility will feature a Virtual Production LED Volume Stage with performance capture. The center will have two double-height, column-free stages, two television studios, and state-of-the-art broadcast control rooms.
We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about innovating storytelling through experimentation and creative research. We are actively seeking applicants that have a commitment to equity forward teaching practices and who recognize and embrace the values of inclusivity and diversity, both in the classroom and in the field.
Duties include teaching 5 courses per year, mentoring graduate students, and participating in departmental and/or school-wide committees and events, including on-set productions. Ongoing professional work and training is encouraged and expected. Evidence of teaching experience at the university level is required.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $110,000. This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months OR for 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Salary, to be negotiated, includes an excellent benefits package.
