Paddington in Peru, the third entry in the popular live-action/CG hybrid film franchise based on the children’s book classic, has punched its ticket for theatrical release! Produced by Heyday Films, the threequel will debut in the U.K. on November 8, 2024, followed by a U.S./Canada release on January 17, 2025 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day Weekend).
Directed by Dougal Wilson (a music video and commercial veteran) in his feature film debut, Paddington in Peru has completed filming on location in London, Peru and Colombia.
The film returns the charming toggle-coat-clad bear back to his homeland, as he returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and to the mountain peaks of Peru.
Paddington in Peru stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Jim Broadbent, with both Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton returning as the respective voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy. Joining the cast is newcomer Carla Tous in the role of Gina Cabot.Previously announced cast member Rachel Zegler was unable to carry out the role in Paddington in Peru due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
The film is fully financed and developed by StudioCanal, which will distribute in the U.K., France, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Australia and New Zealand as well as through partners in China and Japan. Sony Pictures is handling theatrical exhibition in the U.S. & Canada as well as other key territories including Latin America.
