BAFTA-Nominated Studio The Line Delivers Seasonal Ambience with ‘Buzz Chickson Christmas Cruisin’

London’s The Line Animation Studio, the BAFTA-nominated studio behind the Gucci Hallucination campaign, Marvel SNAP “Hero fr. Martin Garrix & JVKE” and Gorillaz “Humility” music video, has debuted a new project that puts a seasonal spin on ASMR. Featuring a fan favorite from The Line Originals, Buzz Chickson Christmas Cruisin’ takes viewers along on a Christmas white noise loop through the capital with Buzz, now available to watch for free on YouTube.

This tour features the unfiltered festive streets of London’s West End: Follow fast food delivery guy Buzz through some of the capital’s most iconic thoroughfares, including Regent Street, Oxford Street and Bond Street. The background loop is a mix of 2D hand-drawn animation and live action — shot just this month by director Tim McCourt (co-founder of The Line) and compositor Max Taylor. The organic London street sounds were recorded directly from the festive hustle and bustle of these popular shopping streets by Box of Toys (@bxftys).

The Line was founded by six industry-established animators — Tim McCourt, Sam Taylor, Wesley Louis, James Duveen, Bjørn-Erik Aschim and Max Taylor — who describe their dynamic as “doing what we love with the best people we know”. Specializing in hand-drawn 2D animation, the studio has built a portfolio of works for clients from Gorillaz, Lil Nas X and Marvel to Mercedes-Benz and Great British Bake Off.

Earlier this month, the studio dropped another soothing seasonal treat on YouTube with its eight-hour, 4K Cosy Anime Fireplace — The Line’s first-ever animated ambience loop. Watch it here!
