Alloy Entertainment (You, Purple Hearts, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah) is getting in the holiday spirit early this year, announcing its first animated feature project Christmas Forever: Escape to the North Pole. The movie is being adapted from the new children’s book written by Alloy’s Head of Film, Elysa Dutton, coming this fall.
The story takes place on Christmas Eve, and follows a group of ornaments who, tired of being stuck in storage all year, devise a plan to escape to the fabled Santa Claus H.Q. at the North Pole, where it will be Christmas forever.
Dutton is producing the film with Alloy Ent.’s President & Chief Creative Officer, Leslie Morgenstein. The project is currently out to writers.
The book Christmas Forever: Escape to the North Pole is written by Dutton and features illustrations by Colombian artist Manu Montoya (Books Aren’t for Eating, What Is a Llama?, Stone Soup [2023]). Penguin/Random House will publish the title this fall.
