Molang ‘Kindness Club’ Capsule Toons Coming to YouTube

Independent French animation studio Millimages has announced the launch of the first Kindness Club episodes on its maverick Molang YouTuber Channel. The 10-episode series is the latest to join Molang’s catalog of projects, products and initiatives that promote its core values of empathy, kindness and joy.

“As part of our drive to promote the values of kindness, help and sharing that Molang stands for, we created this new capsule format for our Molang YouTuber channel just a year after its launch,” said Kévin Maintrot, Head of Digital Content Strategy. “We can’t (and don’t want to) ignore the importance of mental health related topics in today’s world so we focused on subjects of interest to young and old alike, such as self-acceptance, managing your emotions, and fighting cyberbullying.”

Kindness Club comprises monthly eight- to 10-minute animated shorts wherein the characters model and discuss matters of mental health and kindness with celebrity parodies from the world of animation.

In the first episode, released on September 1, Molang turns to Barbara — a parody of Barbie — for inspiration on “How to always stay POSITIVE?” In “Unlocking Success with Better SLEEP” coming on September 22, the guest star is Sleeping Pinco (Aurora/Sleeping Beauty); while Monday (a nod to Wednesday) is the perfect choice to discuss “The benefits of FEAR in Life!” (launching on October 13).

“The podcast/interview format has become very popular and is a perfect complement to the many platforms and partners we work with to spread positive messages — especially YouTube and social media,” added Adrien Moretto, General Director. “This goes hand in hand with other of our initiatives such as the Molang Safe Space media campaign against cyberbullying in France that won the 2024 CSR Initiative of the Year Award.”

Moretto will discuss the singular success of Molang’s YouTube journey on the “Innovators on YouTube” panel at this year’s Ottawa International Animation Festival.

Molang YouTuber launched in June 2023 as an innovative concept featuring animated characters interacting just like human content creators do, in popular video genres like Reacts, Gaming, ASMR, and various challenges. The channel publishes new episodes every Sunday, now totaling over 300 videos, garnering 314K subscribers and 54M views.
