REMOW Co., Ltd. has announced the return of Gag Manga Biyori (full title in Japanese: Masuda Kosuke Gekijo Gag Manga Biyori) for a fifth season, as Gag Manga Biyori GO, to celebrate the original manga’s 25th anniversary. The new season will be produced by studio DEEN, which produced seasons 3 and 4 as well as recent anime titles such as Yakuza Finance and Twilight Out of Focus.
To celebrate the upcoming season, the series key visual, staff, cast and characters have been revealed via the official website (gagbi-go.com, Japanese only). More news will be revealed at the Masuda Kosuke Gekijo Gag Manga Biyori GB stage at Jump Festa 2025.
Gag Manga Biyori GO will launch on broadcast and streaming in April 2025; global streaming platform partners to be announced.
Inspired by the manic, non sequitur stories of manga-ka Kosuke Masuda, the short-form anime series will spotlight a wide variety of characters such as Shotoku Taishi, Matsuo Basho and Usami-chan, drawing viewers into their unique world of surreal gags.
Characters & Voice Cast:

- Ryo Naito as Matsuo Basho
- Takeshi Maeda as Kawai Sora
- Narumi Sato as Usami-chan
- Takeshi Maeda as Kumakichi-kun
The cast also features Yuji Ueda, Kaori Nazuka, Masahito Yabe and Kensho Ono.
At Jump Festa 2025 on December 22, on stage at Jump Studio at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba outside Tokyo, members of the cast including Maeda and Ono will join director Akitaro Daichi, theme song artist Tetsuya Kanmuri (a.k.a. THE KANMURI) and Kumakichi-kun to reveal more details about the upcoming season.
The Gag Manga Biyori GO creative team also includes art director Manami Koyama, director of photography Yoshihisa Oyama, color designer Mizuki Nakagawa, sound director Kazuya Tanaka and composer Harukichi Yamamoto.
