‘Warhammer 40,000’ Animation ‘Astartes II’ Back in Action with New Teaser

After a long silence on the project’s progress, the official Warhammer Community website has launched a new teaser trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Astartes II , announced a planned launch in 2026 on the Warhammer+ platform.

According to the update, the Warhammer Studio and animation producer Syama Pedersen, creator of the original Astartes miniseries, have been hard at work “blending his incredible flair for action and storytelling with decades of Warhammer 40,000 lore to unleash a compellingly grimdark story.”

While fans will be excited to hear the new series is definitely on the way, the teaser does not actually offer a glimpse at Astartes II footage. Instead, it is a compilation of shots portraying the former lives of the characters who will appear in the show, and “a pretty unsubtle hint at the end as to the nature of the final story.”

Astartes II is part of an expanding lineup of original animations on Warhammer+ / Warhammer TV. The blog offered a sneak peek in September for a few titles: the recently launched Return to Cadia (a standalone tale out of the Hammer and Bolter universe), the next installment of Blacktalon (for Age of Sigmar fans) and Kill Lupercal, the first Warhammer animated series set during the Horus Heresy.
