Organizers of CEE Animation Workshop, dedicated to supporting and promoting animation creators and producers in Central & Eastern Europe, have announced the selection for 2025. Twelve projects and 27 participants from 10 European countries have been chosen from 38 applications from 21 countries. The program once again welcomes projects and participants from across Europe, while maintaining focus on the CEE region and low-production-capacity countries.
This year’s line-up includes:
- five series
- four feature films
- three short films
- two career-oriented participants (joining the program without production projects)
- one scholarship-winning project from the CEE Animation Forum 2024
CEE Animation Workshop will consist of four one-week modules: two online modules (taking place in May and October 2025) and two on-site modules: March 10-16 in twin cities Nova Gorica, Slovenia and Gorizia, Italy (selected as E.U. European Capitals of Culture for 2025), and July 28 to August 3 in Łódź, Poland.
The Workshop group leaders this year are Réka Temple (producer, Four Souls of Coyote | Cinemon Entertainment, Hungary), Annemie Degryse (producer, Savages | Lumière Group / Beast Studio, Belgium), Phil Parker (script consultant, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit | United Kingdom) and Rita Domonyi (script consultant, White Plastic Sky | Hungary).
“We are excited to start the magical seventh edition of the workshop with a group of interesting projects and motivated participants from all over Europe. This year will be really special, as we are bringing many highlights!” said Saša Bach, the Managing director. “Firstly, we are proudly welcoming new group leaders, accomplished producers Annemie Degryse and Réka Temple, and we are starting the first module in Nova Gorica-Gorizia, the European Capital of Culture 2025. We are also looking forward to visiting Łódź for our summer module and attending the CEE Animation Forum 2025 in November as a really nice closure to this edition. We are counting on a busy and inspiring year!”
CEE Animation Workshop is organised by Slovene Animated Film Association (DSAF), CEE Animation, Slovak Association of Animated Film Producers (APAF) and Polish Animation Producers’ Association (SPPA).
