Crunchyroll Chases Pop Idol Dreams with CloverWorks’ ‘Trapezium’

Crunchyroll is now streaming a new feature  by CloverWorks, the acclaimed Japanese studio that also delivered popular titles such as Spy X Family, My Dress-Up DarlingBocchi The Rock!, and Horimiya.

Based on the original novel by Kazumi Takayama, the film is directed by Masahiro Shinohara (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 Counterattack Arc), with a screenplay written by Yuko Kakihara (Buddy DaddiesBlue Box). The main voice cast includes Asaki Yuikawa (The Elusive Samurai), Hina Youmiya (BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!!), Reina Ueda (Solo Leveling), and Haruka Aikawa (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime).

CloverWorks’ “Trapeziium” is streaming on Crunchyroll.

The musical drama follows the adventure of school student Yu Azuma who will do whatever it takes to become an idol. She’s even sworn to stay off social media and promises not to get a boyfriend. Ready to make her dream a reality, she decides to find three other girls from the four corners of her prefecture to form an idol group. But the road to stardom hides unexpected trials that threaten to undo all she’s worked for.

The 95-minute movie is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
