IDT Renames Yankee Irving, Pushes Back Release Date

IDT’s CG-animated feature about a young boy’s heroic cross-country quest has a new name and a new release date. The feature, which was originally directed by the late Christopher Reeve and titled Yankee Irving, is now called Everyone’s Hero and scheduled to premiere on September 15, instead of August 25.

Featuring the voices of Rob Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, Brian Dennehy,

Raven-Symone, William H. Macy, Mandy Patinkin, Robert Wagner, Jake T. Austin and the late Dana Reeve, the feature will be distributed nationwide by Twentieth Century Fox. International sales are handled by IDT Entertainment Sales. The plot centers on an ordinary boy who takes a chance and decides to take heroic actions, despite overwhelming odds. He is accompanied by a feisty little girl and an eclectic group of sidekicks in his cross-county journey to restore his family’s honor and discover the hero within.

‘Chris Reeve was drawn to the story as its original director because at its essence Everyone’s Hero is about never giving up,’ says Morris Berger, CEO of IDT Entertainment. ‘Dana Reeve’s continued involvement with the film right up until her passing was a powerful and inspirational reminder of the power of love. Everyone’s Hero is a celebration of those themes and we are dedicating the film to the lives and legacy of these two extraordinary people.’
