Dan Lin will produce a feature film adaptation of the DC Comics property Suicide Squad for Warner Bros., Variety reports.
Suicide Squad, created by notable comic-book writer John Ostrander (The Spectre, Star Wars: Legacy), is about a group of incarcerated supervillains sent by the government to execute highly dangerous missions. The concept first appeared as a series of short comics stories in The Brave and the Bold in 1959. It was revived and revamped into its own series, which ran for more than five years in the late 1980s.
Justin Marks, whose most recent credit is the just-opening Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, is writing the screenplay. Lin and Stephen Gilchrist are producing the film.
