As it celebrates its 39th birthday, the longest-running children’s television series is launching on new digital platforms. For the first time, young fans can now download full episodes to their computers from iTunes. A total of 12 episodes from season 35 are now available at www.itunes.com. There is also a dedicated Sesame Street YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/SesameStreet) providing access to more than 100 of the best Sesame Street clips, and additional content on Hulu (www.hulu.com), including more than 30 of the most popular celebrity segments featuring Julia Roberts and Laurence Fishburne.
New clips and episodes will be added on a monthly basis. Visitors will be able to leave comments on these various sites, letting the team at Sesame Workshop know how we’re doing and how they can make their experience even better.
Sesame Workshop was also awarded a Google Grant, an in-kind donation program awarding free AdWords advertising to select charitable organizations. When Google users search on keywords related to Sesame Workshop an ad will appear next to relevant search results under the Sponsored Links sections. This wlill help the non-profit organization reach more of its audience online.
