The Nov. 10 episode of Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy has awakened the wrath of Parents TV Council. Deadline.com reports that the watchdog group is encouraging members to file broadcast indecency complaints with the commission. PTC was alarmed by the episode which had explicit jokes about rape, molestation, sexual exploitation of children and “the “sexualized use of food and perverse ‘internal defrosting’ of frozen hot dogs.” PTC sent out word of the campaign this morning to the media, with a partial transcript of the episode.
“It is unconscionable that Seth MacFarlane would produce entertainment content that employs rape, molestation and the sexual exploitation of children as punch-lines to a joke. And it is reprehensible – and we think illegal – that Fox affiliates would air such material when children are likely to be in the audience,” said PTC President Tim Winter.
The Parents Television Council (PTC) was founded by Catholic League heavyweight L. Brent Bozell III and is funded by conservative organization. The organization has filed complaints about Family Guy several times in the past few years.
