Starz Animation’s Film Roman studio has inked a first-look deal with producer-director-writer William Butler’s Transition Entertainment. Butler and his team, which includes three-time Emmy Award winner John Vulich, will work with Film Roman’s general manager, head of production Dana Booton to develop and create both animated and live-action content for all platforms, with an emphasis on the digital sphere.
Butler’s eclectic resume includes a recently completed pilot for comedy series Waffle Hut, ongoing producing/directing duties for Disney’s Game On, writing and directing the horror flick Madhouse and thriller Furnace. Transition Entertainment has also written and produced several live theater shows in L.A., including The Chuck Rivers Show — a satirical send-up of 1970s talk shows featuring a rotating cast of comedians.
