Fox’s FXX network will be celebrating the arrival of everyone’s favorite yellow-hued family The Simpsons this summer with an epic marathon of all 552 episodes of Matt Groening’s award-winning, record-breaking animated sitcom. Beginning August 21 and running through Labor Day (cancel your BBQ plans), the 12-day Springfield fest will run four hours of episodes a day until the new season begins.
If you can’t park your keister for the extent of what John Landgraf, chief executive of FX Networks, told Variety will be “the longest continuous marathon in the history of television,” don’t worry. FXX will also be releasing an app — details to come — that will allow you to download every episode. So be sure to backup all your selfies, artsy pictures of your lunch and podcasts to another device to make room on your phones and tablets for this cornucopia of d’oh-lightfulness.
