FremantleMedia Kids Strikes Co-Pro Deal with Thailand’s Shellhut

FremantleMedia Kids & Family has entered a significant co-production agreement with leading Thai production company Shellhut Entertainment, marking the next stage in the Kids division’s plans to create a larger footprint in Asia. The deal was secured by FMK’s VP for Asia, Henry Or.

Under the agreement, FMK and Shellhut will co-produce two animated series — to be announced in the near future — with FMK’s EVP Creative and Production, Bob Higgins, acting as the executive producer. FMK will hold television distribution and licensing rights for the two series in all territories, excluding Thailand.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Shellhut Entertainment to create some outstanding content for the Asian market and beyond,” says FMK President and General Manager, Rick Glankler. “This new deal sees FremantleMedia Kids & Family expand its global production capability and moves the division towards becoming one of the most active and successful western kids and family entertainment companies working in the territory.”

“We are thrilled to have FremantleMedia as our partner, and also to manage the worldwide distribution and licensing for our new TV series. This will create a new chapter for our company, and with FremantleMedia’s expertise, we are more confident that the TV series and the characters will have international appeal for millions of global viewers,” added Shellhut’s CEO and Founder, Dr. Jwanwat Ahriyavraromp.
