China’s LETV Scores Exclusive Nick SVOD Deal

Viacom has inked an exclusive content deal for 778 episodes of classic Nicktoons with China’s leading family-targeted SVOD service, LETV Membership. The agreement covers 18 seasons in total, including international hit series SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora and Friends: Into the City.

Nickelodeon and LETV will expand the partnership with additional content, including a live broadcast of the 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards, which aired in China for this first time this year through LeEco VIP’s SVOD platform. (LETV is owned by LeEco, an online video company based in Beijing.)

To promote the new exclusive arrangement, LETV Membership presented a themed “820 Super Parent-Child Day” viewing event on August 20 in Beijing. The promotion was attended by 400 families who enjoyed parent-child activities, Nick character meet-and-greets with SpongeBob, Dora and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and screenings.
