A new independently produced anime series starring martial arts icon Bruce Lee is in the works, with a new teaser just dropped and a full trailer set to debut with the 50th anniversary theatrical re-release of his classic film Enter the Dragon (August 13 and 16 in 4K). Titled House of Lee, the action-fantasy series comes from Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee Entertainment, content platform Shibuya and its co-founder Emily Yang.
Inspired by his famous quote, “Those who are unaware they are walking in darkness will never seek the light,” House of Lee follows Bruce Lee on a quest to gather the Dragon Warriors and save the world from being plunged into shadow.
“Anime is an amazing medium for telling a truly creative story where Bruce Lee can be Bruce Lee,” Shannon Lee told Deadline. “I’m so excited for the possibilities for action, fantasy, history, culture and creativity within this medium.”
Shannon Lee connected with Yang after seeing her animated short White Rabbit. Yang is an artist known in the Web3 community by the handle Pplepleaser.
