Cartoon Forum Standouts

In continuing our wrap-up of the 13th Cartoon Forum in Bangor, North Wales, we look at the projects that stood out among the field of 80 new European animated television projects vying for the financing power of 266 investors.

According to Cartoon, creative concepts, efficent trailers, established companies and professional pitches ruled the show. Most of the following projects obtained guarantees for 50 to 70% of their financing during the Forum.

In other success news, Creative Film’s Peppa Pig brought home the bacon with Universal and, as reported yesterday, the BBC signed a deal with Collingwood O’Hare Ent. for Gordon Gnome.

The Cartoon Forum 2003 will take place Sept. 18-21 in Varese, Italy. The next Cartoon Movie, dedicated to the animation feature film industry, will be held March 13-15 2003 in Potsdam.
