The Ottawa International Animation Festival is launching a new TV Animation Conference Day in conjunction with its annual event this September. This specialized, industry-driven confab will focus on active networking, practical information exchange and cultural trade.
Producers will have the opportunity to meet other Canadian and international producers and to network and rendezvous with international broadcasters and buyers. Fifteen VIPs in the national and international industries will host various focused panels and engage in active trade with Canadian participants. The OIAF is also inviting buyers from around the world.
The Television Animation Conference will be held all day Thursday, September 23 and the morning of Friday, September 24, 2004 at the Chateau Laurier in downtown Ottawa.
TAC will include keynote speakers: Michael Hirsh (CEO, Cookie Jar Ent.) and Fred Seibert (executive producer, Frederator Studios, and Animag Pitch Party Judge), as well as panels on the American market, making of hot new Breakthrough Entertainment/Atomic Cartoons series Atomic Betty, Chinese co-productions and the branding and licensing arenas.
The Ottawa International Animation festival takes place September 22-26, and will include screenings of the best new animation from around the world, as well as sidebar programs on Hayao Miyazaki, 75 years of Popeye, Soviet animated propaganda, French animation, Harvey Birdman and the new faces of Canadian animation.
