Animation Co-op Winds Up for Project Pitch

The Animation Co-op has confirmed its annual Project Pitch for the evening of Saturday, April 2, at 2340 Overland Ave. in Los Angeles, Calif. Artists, filmmakers and toon aficionados will gather at 7:30 p.m. to soak up work at varying stages in the game, from project pitches to pieces in development. The event will also feature a special screening of Disney veteran Mike Blum’s new CG short, The Zit.

The Animation Co-op’s creative stew pot provides an opportunity for artists to get valuable critique from their peers and gives animation lovers a night brimming with fresh projects and inspiration. In addition to The Zit, the following will comprise the slate of delights to tickle your toon fancy: Tools (series) by Jeff Oppen, And Then Came A Roar (short) by Eileen Morris, Abracadabra (feature) by Heather Wilbur and Glenn Jason Hanna, Dr. Deanie (short) by MJ Lallo, Chester (short) by George Maestri, Invizo Kids (feature) by Scott Tygett, Return To Nugget Island (feature) by Scott Tygett, Act Your Age (series) by Kellie-Bea Cooper and Dave Porter, Cydonia (series), by Wendee Lee, and Captain’s Log (short) by Eamonn Butler, Chris Cowan and Ramiro Gomez.

Moon Seun and Kevin Geiger created the Animation Co-op in July of 2003 with the goal giving independent animators a forum to discuss their art, collaborate on projects and share resources. The non-profit network of artists and supporters boasts more than 600 members with 11 local chapters across the U.S. Project Pitch is the Co-op’s most popular event and interested parties are encouraged to register promptly before spots run out.
