The Anime Network, the first all-anime programmer in North America, has extended its agreement with RCN Corp. and will be available to subscribers of RCN’s Impulse on DemandSM VOD beginning Dec. 1 in Manhattan, Boston, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia, as well as to Pennsylvania markets outside of the original Philadelphia carriage agreement.
The Japanese-style animation outlet will provide RCN with 25 hours of programming for its VOD service, including such popular titles as Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Full Metal Panic, Noir and Saiyuki. Says Anime Network president Kevin Corcoran, "Anime fans are demanding their anime and operators are listening."
Launched in late 2002, the Anime Network is a subsidiary of A.D. Vision, Inc., the parent company to ADV Films and Newtype USA.
