In what could be called a purrrrfect partnership, Japanese anime production company Madhouse is in talks to co-produce Corsham Entertainment’s hot new 26-part teen anime series, Natural Born Kittens.
Created by British anime artist Larry Bundy Jr., Natural Born Kittens follows the wild and wacky adventures of four ancient Egyptian feline goddesses who pose as teen schoolgirls in low-rent suburbia. According to the producers, the toon mayhem created by the kittens will make South Park look like Noddy!
“Natural Born Kittens is a great combination of Western and Japanese animation,” says Shinichi Kobayashi, CEO of Madhouse. “We are very excited about the prospects of the series.
Corhsam Entertainment is the U.K. production company founded by oscar-winning Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz and BIONCILE co-creator Alastair Swinnerton. Corhsam recently sold its first show, the half-hour Christmas special, The Tale of Jack Frost, to the BBC. Recent Madhouse productions include Beyblade, Cardcaptors, Ninja Scroll, Metropolis, Vampire Hunter D, Animatrix, Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers.
