It’s good to know that although the political climate around the world shows little signs of improving, animated shows continue to bridge the socio-political divide between nations and continents. Toronto-based toon shop DECODE Entertainment just announced recent sales of its programming library to buyers across Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The children’s show What About Mimi? has sold to Indian kids channel Hungama TV, while pre-school show The Save-Ums! has been bought by Indonesia’s Spectrum Films and Taiwan’s Disney Channel. The first season of the shop’s 2D Franny’s Feet has been snapped by RTM Malaysia, while its second season has been sold to Hong Kong’s ATV Channel.
In the Middle East, Kratt Brothers’ Be the Creature has been bought by Rainbow Media and the live-action CG series The Blobheads has been acquired by MBC. Meanwhile, Polish cable channel ZigZap (formerly Minimax) has announced plans to air second seasons of DECODE’s GirlStuff/BoyStuff and Radio Free Roscoe.
