Forget the football game: You can spend Turkey Day with your favorite mystery-solving animated canine this year. Cartoon Network has scheduled the new toon movie Scooby-Doo in Where’s My Mummy? for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24 at 12 p.m., with a replay at 7 p.m.
In the 2D animated movie,’ the Mystery, Inc. crew find themselves in Egypt and get tangled in a spooky plotline involving Cleopatra’s ruby ankh necklace, hidden tombs, vanishing waters from the Nile and, of course, an army of the dead.
Cartoon Network has also announced a date for the debut of its hot new series, Ben 10. The new half-hour sci-fi action/adventure series follows the adventures of a 10-year-old boy who can transform into any one of 10 alien beings with fantastic superpowers thanks to his out-of-this-world wristwatch. Created by Man of Action (the collective name for Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steve Seagle) the clever 26-part series will premiere on Cartoon Network on Friday, January 13 at 7:30 p.m.
This weekend, TV toon watchers will also get a new episode of SpongeBob SquarePants on Nickelodeon. Yes, everyone’s favorite undersea dweller, back with a killer new special episode titled “Where’s Gary?” at 8 p.m. The plotline goes something like this:While trying to beat a paddle-ball world record, SpongeBob forgets to feed Gary for several weeks. So Gary runs away to downtown Bikini Bottom where he is taken in by a kindly old woman who confuses him with one of her many deceased pets.
Stephen Hillenburg’s top-rated show will have 20 new episodes in 2006, which brings the grand total episode numbers to a very cool 100. Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Roger Bumpass, Clancy Brown and Carolyn Lawrence are all continuing their top-notch voice duties on the show.
