Ethnic Heroes Save the Day on [adult swim]’s Politically Incorrect Minoriteam

Get ready for another outrageous new show on [adult swim] this Sunday as Minoriteam makes its much-anticipated debut at midnight, March 19. Created by Adam de la Pena, Todd James and Peter Girardi, Minoriteam promises to have something to offend everyone and will feel right at home next to the other outrageous toons offered on Cartoon Network’s [adult swim] this Sunday night.

The 15-minute show centers on a team of ethnic superheroes’led by the wheelchair-bound math genius Dr. Wang. There’s the speedy Fasto, the powerful Jewcano, Non-Stop, the alter-ego of former pro skater Dave Raj, who can’t be shot, and oil billionaire Richard Escartin, who wield a supercharged leafblower which lets him fly through space and time. The team members use racial stereotypes to fight the evil adversary known as the White Shadow. Other bad guys include The Corporate Ladder, The Standardized Test and Racist Frankenstein.

The creative forces behind the show have a strong background in working on edgy, off-the-wall projects such as The Man Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live and the digital entertainment company, Funny Garbage. All three worked on the Comedy Central show Crank Yankers: Adam de la Pena was a write, James was a puppet designer and Peter was a production designer.

Minoriteam‘s animation is done in-house at a Cartoon Network studio in Hollywood. Photoshop and After Effects tools are used to animate hand-drawn images, which are designed as an homage to the great Marvel comic artists such as Jack Kirby. To learn more about the quirky show, make sure you read the upcoming May issue of Animation Magazine. To get a sneak peek, visit www.adultswim.com
