Castalia Snags Deltora Quest for Latin America

Castalia Content Distribution, a division of Castalia Communications Corp., has acquired the Latin American broadcast and videogram rights to the animated series Deltora Quest from Dentsu Communications Inc. Based on a series of award-winning children’s fantasy books by Australian author Emily Rodda, the show has been a hit on TV Tokyo in Japan and is set to follow the books around the world.

The 52-episode Deltora Quest animated series is produced by OLM with investment support from Dentsu. The show follows the adventures of three companions as they journey across the magical land of Deltora to recover magical artifacts and defeat Guardians of the evil Shadow Lord. The animation is primarily hand-drawn, but the Guardians are brought to the screen with CG.

The first Deltora book was published in 2000. The series has since become a favorite with children and teachers, selling more than 10 million copies in more than 30 countries.
