While computer animation is often referred to as 3D, Santa Vs. The Snowman will be the kind of 3D film that requires special glasses. Thrown on a screen eight stories high with 12,000 watts of digital surroundsound, the film will aim to create a highly immersing experience.
In addition to the spectacle of the format, producers promise a "heartwarming, hilarious family story." The plot centers on a lonely snowman swept away by the magical wonders of Santa’s Village, only to become jealous of St. Nick and wage war against him.
Santa Vs. The Snowman will be released in IMAX theaters nationwide beginning Nov. 1.
