Material Submission Requirements

Final Page Trim Size: 8 3/8″ x 10 7/8″

Page Bleed Size: 8 7/8″ x 11 3/8″
(1/4” Margin and Bleed – any image or color on the edge of the paper should pass the trim line by 1/4” (.25”/18 pt); any text that is not part of the background should be 1/4” away from the trim; crop marks need to be included, offset from trim by 3/8” (.375” / 27pt), do not include registration marks or color bars when possible)

For Cover: Top 3″ are used for logo and Animation Magazine ID’s Character may overlap logo, but must not obscure readability. Photoshop layered Template for this is available on CD per request.

Linescreen: 150 lpi

Digital Materials: Animation magazine can accept images and advertisements in a number of different formats. Please use the following guidelines when creating and sending your files to us.

Images: Slides, Transparencies, and Flat Art: Please make sure each piece submitted is identified and caption information is included (e.g. people images-person’s name, product image-product name, TV show-title of show, etc.) Animation Magazine will not publish an image unless descriptive information is provided.

Email: E-mail files to: prod@animationmagazine.net. If you’re sending InDesign files, they need to be stuffed including fonts used. Send picture files in TIFF or EPS format, CMYK, 300 dpi. If your files are very large (exceeding 10MB) please send them on portable media. Ask for our FTP info.

Adobe Photoshop: Images should be in Macintosh format as TIFF, EPS or Photoshop file (if EPS or Photoshop file include Fonts). Images should be either Bitmap, Grayscale or CMYK. NO RGB or Indexed Color. Resolution should be 300dpi.

InDesign Files: Include all used images, printer and screen fonts. Do not use True Type or Multiple Master fonts. Do not put all fonts in one suitcase.

Adobe Illustrator Files: Convert all fonts to outlines and save as EPS. Do not leave fonts embedded. If this can not be done, send printer and screen fonts with your file. Fonts need to be stuffed.

Company Profile: Four images maximum plus company logo. Three-hundred fifty words with complete directions for all links. Allow 1/2″ border around entire page.

Please include a 4/C printout or laser proof with your submission.
