Ahead of CinemaCon next week, The Walt Disney Studios have announced several major franchise feature releases for 2026. The entertainment giant’s full upcoming film presentation will be held on the last day of the event, April 11.

Animation fans can look forward to Pixar’s Toy Story 5, which has taken the “untitled Pixar movie” slot for June 19, 2026. The quinquel will arrive 30-and-a-half years after the groundbreaking Toy Story, Pixar’s first movie and the first ever entirely CG-animated feature film.

Shifting back to give Moana 2 some breathing room, the live-action remake of Disney’s Moana moves from its previous release date (June 27, 2025) to July 10, 2026.

And on the Lucasfilm/Star Wars side, Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu will bring the beloved Disney+ bounty hunter and his Force-gifted charge to the big screen on May 22, 2026 — the Friday before Memorial Day.

Disney also announced that the standalone sci-fi sequel TRON: Ares, directed by Oscar-nominated Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Rønning (Kon-Tiki, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil), will open October 10, 2025. Paramount Pictures is due to release the first in its trio of animated Avatar: The Last Airbender movie, centered on an adult Aang, on this date.
