Netflix today zapped fans with an electrifying official trailer for Blood of Zeus Season 2. Produced by Powerhouse Animation Studio (Castlevania, Seis Manos), the second season of the adult animated action-adventure launches May 9 on the streamer.

Created by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides and based on ancient Greek mythology, the adult action-adventure series centers on Heron (voice of Derek Phillips), a commoner living in ancient Greece, who discovers he is the son of Zeus (Jason O’Mara), the king of the Olympian gods, and destined to defend the world from an army of demons.

S2 Synopsis: Following Zeus’ demise, a power vacuum emerges amongst the gods, leaving Heron , Zeus’ demigod son, struggling to find his place. He is racked with loss and hears a mysterious refrain in his dreams, prodding him to save his brother, Seraphim, who is suffering the terrors of the Underworld. Unbeknownst to Heron, Hades is trying to enlist Seraphim to help him secure Zeus’ vacant throne and save his family from their long standing suffering.

The series voice cast also features Elias Toufexis as Seraphim; Claudia Christian as Hera; Chris Diamantopoulos as Poseidon; Jessica Henwick as Alexia; Adetokumboh M’Cormack as Kofi; Fred Tatasciore as Hades; Adam Croasdell as Apollo and Hephaestus; Matt Lowe as Ares; Jennifer Hale as Artemis and Clotho; David Shaughnessy as Chiron and Dionysus; Matthew Mercer as Hermes; Mamie Gummer, Melina Kanakaredes, Danny Jacobs and Vanessa Marshall.
